The insurance for an effective solution
The GER acoustic study (Noise Impact Report) is a means of determining the extent to which the installation of a Greenwall noise barrier will provide a solution to noise pollution. An independent acoustic consultancy calculates what the expected noise reduction will be in your specific situation.
Research
In consultation with a Greenwall consultant and the client, the desired position, height and length of the Greenwall® noise barrier are determined. Also (satellite and environmental) photos and any drawings, designs or maps of the surroundings are sent to the acoustical office.
Based on this data and the noise source data, which is often already available to the acoustical consultant, the software program Geonoise is used to calculate the effect of the planned Greenwall® noise barrier.
Result
The result is stated in a memo, expressed in the number of dB reduction compared to the current (zero) situation. Greenwall normally receives a note within 10 working days, which it can then discuss with the customer.
The study may also reveal that placing a screen has insufficient effect, or that the screen must be in a different location or of different dimensions to be effective.
Incidentally, this memorandum has no legal value under the Noise Pollution Act. For that, a full acoustic investigation (wgh) should be carried out
Investment
In all cases, an acoustic survey is an investment: it answers the question of how much noise the noise barrier will reduce, and it insures you against an expense that does not deliver its value.
