Cemetery - Oegstgeest

The current cemetery around the church no longer has space for burials, making an expansion of the cemetery necessary. The development of the expansion of the cemetery provides an opportunity to anchor the site of the "Little Green Church" even more strongly in its surroundings. The visibility of the church and safe accessibility can be increased with the cemetery. In addition, it offers the opportunity to create a green village edge for the entire zone between the Haarlemmerstraatweg and the A44 motorway. Part of the green village edge is the Greenwall sound barrier. The Greenwall Classic was chosen to visually screen off the cemetery from the A44 and to absorb and reduce the noise from road traffic. The total of 250 meters long noise barrier has a height of 2 and 3 meters. Part of the Greenwall is a fully automated sprinkler system, including solar panels and GSM fault detector. The official opening took place on Friday, November 25, 2011. 855 m² of Greenwall Classic 300 is part of the green village edge.
