The Straightforward Sound Barrier

The Greenwall Cassette is a modular noise barrier consisting of panel-shaped elements. These elements can be slid against posts or between H-sections. The panels consist of a steel cage covered with a reinforced natural-fiber fabric and filled with a sound-absorbing core.

Multifunctional

This narrow screen is primarily used in public spaces in hard-to-reach locations and where space is limited. In addition, the smaller version is frequently used by landscapers as a sound barrier in private gardens.

Peace and privacy

The screen’s design brings tranquility and privacy to gardens and parks. No noise pollution from busy roads, tram tracks, or moped and bicycle paths—just the garden restored to the resident. The plantings can be varied as desired with evergreen Hedera, Parthenocissus, Rosa, or Clematis.

Can be used anywhere

The screen is so narrow that it can effectively shield schoolyards, cemeteries, and bus and tram stops. By stacking the panels, a height of up to 4 meters can be achieved.

What Sets Greenwall Apart

The heart of the Greenwall Cassette—and the main reason for its soundproofing properties—is the lime-hemp filling inside the panel. The Greenwall Cassette’s filling consists of an organic mixture of lime and wood fibers derived from the hemp plant. This plant has three very important advantages:

It grows very quickly (up to 3 m tall in 100 days),
It stores 1.36^m3of^CO2per^m3,
It is grown and processed in the Netherlands,

These properties make the core an effective sound barrier and the Greenwall Cassette a highly durable product. The Cassette was developed and tested in collaboration with leading suppliers; it is a sound barrier that climbing plants thrive on and grow quickly against, while minimizing noise pollution.

Applications & Projects

Many projects that have used the Greenwall Cassette are located in inner-city areas: between gardens and schoolyards, next to a fire station, or as a divider between gardens.

Greenwall Cassette panels are available in both 2-meter and 4-meter lengths. The 2-meter panels are also available with an untreated steel frame, which enhances the screen’s natural look.
